The shower was faulty, kept turning off and on, meaning hot then freezing. The extractor fan in the shower room did not work.
The extractor fan over the cooker did not work, nor did the light.
For autumn, even with the storage heaters on, chilly.
The tv was fine if you only want to watch BBC1. Surprisingly, able to pick up the other channels on my iPad through the same WiFi connection.
Shortage of tea spoons - only 4 in a property advertised for 5 people.

Absolutely beautiful apartment, located in a perfect spot for views of the harbour.
We stayed last week for the fifth year running.
Everything you could need is here.
The only downside is the TV reception, which is hit and miss.
Would recommend for people who want a relaxing break.

Location was right up my street, situated in a prime location for the estuary with views of wading birds and swans, plus boating activities. Also Ffestiniog Steam Railway right on the doorstep. Only a short walk to a good selection of shops.
Accommodation was very good, comfortable and clean, but the only gripe was that the shower wouldn’t stay in position and kept flopping down.
We have already booked a week for next year.

Sailing home was very comfortable, well equipped and in a great situation, right next to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, and with a gorgeous view from the lounge and balcony. The beds were comfortable and bedding of good quality. Only small niggle was the height/angle adjuster for the shower wouldn’t move and was stuck at an odd angle. One other thing is the stair window was open on our arrival, and not being tall it was a struggle to reach it to close it. Perhaps it could be left closed. We would definitely come back if visiting the Porthmadog area again.

Location of the property is fabulous with great views over the bay out of all of the windows.

Plenty of room as it was just 3 of us.

Comfy beds and fully equipped kitchen if you want to eat in.

We really enjoyed our stay – the location is perfect for a holiday in Snowdonia and the views of the harbour are incredible. The house is well presented and clean, but will definitely benefit from a modernisation of the bathroom planned for this winter that will update and make it more disability friendly. We did have some storm damage on our last night and flagged this to the local agent and hope this is made safe before the next letting. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Lovely flat in a beautiful spot on Snowdonia Wharf. Amazing view from the balcony and perfect for sitting out in the sun of an evening. Apartment very clean upon arrival and well equipped. WiFi excellent which was a plus with the kids and Netflix. I’ve been coming to Porthmadog for 40 years but was lovely to bring my children and they loved it as well. Crabbing from right in front of the flat was perfect and the kids caught over 100 during our stay. We visited Black Rock beach and Criccieth as well as a day at Portmeirion. We then went to Zip World for the Forest Coaster which was so good. Certainly recommend that. Overall a very pleasant stay in a lovely flat in a perfect location.

Sailing home has everything you need to have an amazing holiday
All you need to do is take yourself there.
All your needs are provided every careful though t care love attention to detail has been anticipated to make your stay personal and memorable .
What ever the weather Sailing home has all you need to have an enjoyable stay .
The view from the balcony is breathtaking
As the tide goes out many birds come and when the tide is in it as though you have been transformed to another place boats people .
The peace there you need to be there to experience it .
You could stay in this amazing apartment and go no where else
Around Porthmadog beautiful walks a narrow gauge railway which will take you further a field as far as carnation if you would like to explore .
It’s so loveley you won’t want to come home .
Four of us stayed this time for 2 weeks an we came back refreshed and recharged Thanku for an amazing holiday .
Those is our 3 rd visit and we will be book ing again

This property offers numerous features that make us return. The views are spectacular, the location great, the welcome pack useful, the dishwasher essential! There are just two of us but even so two loos are a bonus as well. The only downside for me personally is the big step up to the shower which is something to consider if you have limited mobility. The town of Porthmadog offers so much as well and it’s all within easy walking distance.

We had a relaxing break in the region. The house was well appointed and had a peaceful view on the harbor. It was ideally located to discover the area. The perfect place to rest and enjoy life. Last but not least, the weather was great. It was our first stay at Sailing Home and we hope it won't be the last one. We would definitively recommend the Sailing Home.

This is the perfect place to take a break any time of the year. Clean, bright and comfortable with spectacular views. Couldn’t fault the facilities for cleaning, cooking and everyday use. The apartment was decorated very tastefully with a boat/water theme and there were books and games available for wet days. Lots of leaflets with local information and a comprehensive folder containing general useful information. I would have no hesitation in booking this apartment again….

Loveley relaxing holiday. Stayed at Sailing Home many times over 50 years with different owners. Best position on Snowdon Wharf. Get the bi-fold doors open and relax on sun trap balcony

This is our 2nd time at sailing house. A group of us get together for bygones weekend every year and our usual place wasn't available.
This is always an excellent 2nd choice
The rooms are spacial and well laid out. My only issue and this is for every place I stay is there never any sharp knives for cooking.
Also on this occasion we had no TV as the signal was non existent but we put that down to the incredible weather we had.

Highly recommended sailing house.

We absolutely loved our week in Porthmadog at Sailing Home. The house has beautiful views over the estuary and you can spend hours just sitting on the balcony watching cormorants, egrets, herons, gulls, ducks and swallows and boat traffic. The sounds of the nearby steam railway also adds to the charm. The house is very comfortable, with lovely sesasidey decor and extremely well equipped. From comfortable beds, binoculars, books and games to beach mats, spades and crabbing lines, everything has been thought of. Porthmadog high street is a few minutes walk. Lots of crafty shops, cafes, bakers, takeaways and large Tesco a 15min walk or few minute drive. A great base to explore the Llyn peninsular and surrounding area. Our favourite beach was at Harlech 20mins away and we loved seeing the Ospreys at a local reserve. Lots of local historic castles Carnarvon particularly impressive.

The property wasn't huge (not that I expected it to be) but it had 3 bedrooms. It was very clean overall, apart from the shower, which I ended up cleaning myself. These things do happen and it didn't upset me. Parking for the house was outside the front door.
The location and views were superb. I really enjoyed walking to the beach where I was able to swim on a daily basis. The walk took me 35 minutes each way, however, the views were spectacular so it was enjoyable in its own right. We had a good holiday overall.

Great position for local beauty spots and also convenient for local pubs restaurants and shops.
Great local walks from the door and lovely views from the balcony.
Generally very comfortable accommodation although a better shower and cubicle size would be better especially when 5 people are staying.
However my wife and I have stayed here annually for the last 5 years mostly on our own and that speaks for itself!

We have just been fortunate enough to have two weeks of almost constant sunshine in North Wales which enhanced our enjoyment of our holiday but even if the weather had been rainy Sailing Home was the perfect place to stay. A lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the apartment from two loos to kitchen equipment to cushions and everything in between. The only thing I would mention is that there is a higher than usual step into the shower, this caused me some problems but wouldn’t affect anyone able bodied. The other great plus is that Porthmadog itself seems to have recovered from Covid restrictions, there are lots of great places to eat and watch the world go by and, of course, all the attractions of the area to visit.

Another fantastic week in Sailing Home. Great views of the estuary from the balcony, just watching the world go by with a glass of wine. Although without cushions the rattan patio seats get uncomfortable after a while.

Shops, pubs & bars are a few minutes walk away, whilst Spooners bar/resturant is even closer, perfect for watching the trains go by.
The apartment is always spotlessly clean.

Smart TV and good WiFi as Freeview TV receiption on South Snowdon Wharf & Porthmadog area in general can be a bit hit & miss and has reduced number of channels.

Have been staying at this property on and off for 50years. Been under different ownerships in this period. Always satisfird. The current owners maintaining to very high cleanliness and facilities excellent. Only complaint is the TV reception, very poor needs attention

The views are stunning, the house is comfortable, (just two of us) well equipped and well located. It's possibly a little small, but having stayed on South Snowdon Wharf previously we knew what to expect.
We found lots to do in the area, plan to return in the future and would not hesitate to recommend Sailing Home. Its unusual nowadays for towels not to be supplied and we would hope the owners consider providing them.

We have self catered for many years and this is one of the very few which were almost faultless. The house felt like a well loved holiday home, not filled with hand me down furniture and the like. Everything was to hand and obviously a lot of thought had gone into the decoration and furnishing . We lived our stay here and would highly recommend it.

Fabulous place, and a fabulous location!
This was our fourth visit to the sailing home, and as always we had a wonderful time.

It is a beautiful, bright apartment, very well equipped with everything that you could need. Comfortable, cosy and superbly located with stunning views over the harbour. The balcony gets the Sun in the late afternoon and early evening, so it is beautiful to sit out in the evening.

Right next to the Ffestiniog Railway and the best crabbing spots. Black Rock Sands Beach a few minutes away by car and also the stunning Portmeirion..

We cannot wait to come back for our fifth visit to the sailing home.

The apartment had everything that we needed for our visit, the kitchen is well-equipped and there are throws and cushions for added comfort. The bed was comfortable. The fridge/freezer had plenty of storage space. The decking area has a nice range of chairs and a table for the perfect relaxing spot after walks/cycle rides. The Wifi worked really well.
The location was brilliant, beautiful views from the decking area and a really quiet spot. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a great secret holiday location which I would like to keep to myself. The sea view is amazing and the patio gets the sun from noon to evening. You can walk to Tesco’s and Cadwalladers. We also walked to Borth Y Gest and drove to Cricceth and Portmerion.
